Expedition to kodaikanal
Day 1 , Collected my baggage at the door with a slice of bread in my mouth. Locked my house and rushed to the car that stood outside my gate. Those fellows in the car are my friends. We were a crew of five . Each one yelled at me for being late . Convinced them by giving them the travel snacks. My travels are incomplete without a nap. After a nap we reached the mountain. Our stomachs had twisted and puzzled after traveling up on hairpin bend roads on mountains. We lodged in a hotel and had our lunch. We had rented three peddled bicycles and rode to our first destination, the Shenbaganur Museum. History lovers can have a great time visiting this museum. It has a good collection on biological, wildlife , botanical subjects. My attention was fixed on the display of the human body inside a womb. The structure was preserved from the state of an egg until the full grown baby.
And there is a good collection of 500 species of birds, animals, reptiles and insects.
There you can find some of the unique artefacts that belonged to the ancient palaiyar tribes , the descendants of which still reside in the hills.
Though it was a small museum, it had many rare and tremendous collections .
The sun had set back and reminded us that our day 1 had ended there. We returned to our rooms and got some rest . On the second day of our trip, we started early in the morning at 4 to see the beautiful sun rise. Had a gorgeous morning and reached our second destination, Kodaikanal lake. It was a beautiful view of a lake with swarms swimming on it. And we completed our day by visiting 3 more places, coaker walks, Mannavanur lake and Berijam lake. Went boating on Kodaikanal lake and it was an awesome experience. Returned to our hotel at night after wandering through chocolate factories and buying dozens of chocolates . Moon disappeared and invited us to start the third day of our trip. Our first place on day 3 was a pine forest filled with mist. Enjoyed horse ride on in a pine forest. Next we decided to visit the nature’s creation. God had carved his sculpture incredibly. Those creations were Dolphin’s nose and pillar rocks , an extraordinary geographical formation.
There we went up and up to catch clouds instead of getting chilled. Shouted out our names loud at echo point. Afternoon went trekking . The ride was so adventurous. And ended the day with a campfire. Camp fire was engaged with grilling crabs, hearing the horrible voice note of my friend and playing games. That was the most favorite moments of my life to be remembered. The fire on the woods got off in the morning mist. Our final day started devotional, we all went to Kurinji Andavar temple . Then went to Bryant Park and collected many beautiful blossoms. Our last destination was Guna cake. Monkeys snatched our snacks, even my frooti bottle. As all we know that the cave was named after the movie Guna. It is actually caverns formed between the three boulders of the mountain. We spent the whole evening there and started our return journey at early night with a joy of exploration and couldn’t help us being not just nostalgic.
